Burial Donations

On occasion, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office receives unidentified infant and adult remains. Often times these events receive media attention and members of the community will contact the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office expressing a desire to help ensure that the remains receive a proper burial. In order to accommodate these requests, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has established a process whereby individuals in the community can make monetary donations. The donor may direct their donation to one specific event/purpose, or may make a donation that will be applied to the burial of any unidentified remains. Although the amount of the donation is always left up to the individual donor, any amount received will be put towards the burial of the unidentified person or persons. All donations are tax deductible, and should be submitted to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office with specific instructions for its use. Checks should be made out to the “Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.”
